$36,130 - $63,710 FLSA:
Non-Exempt Overview of Position:
Under direction of the Operations Supervisor, regulate the flow and distribution of surface water to users through a series of canals and pipelines and record water usage.
Assists with maintenance activities during off season.
Some Essential Duties include:
Accepts requests for water and orders the needed amounts from the distribution system Ensures the proper flow and delivery of surface water in an assigned area Regulates head gates, turnouts, and diversions to ensure proper water levels Keeps distribution system free of obstructions Keep in constant contact with growers to advise them on their scheduled water orders Inspects system for leaks and breaks Prepares daily water delivery report, update electronic data entry to satisfy water orders Informs Maintenance Department of any failure in the distribution system Will be transferred into the Maintenance Department in the off-season and perform such duties as:
building pipelines, installing boxes and gates, exposing underground utility lines, spraying pesticides, burning weeds, and concrete work
Qualifications:
Education - Graduation from high school Experience - Knowledge of crops and irrigation practices desired Licenses, Registration, Accreditation, etc.

Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License will be required at the time of appointment.
Possession and proof of a driving record free of multiple or serious traffic violations or accidents for two (2) consecutive years.
