Automation/ Application Programmer - On-Site Position
Summary:
The Automation/ Application Programmer will primarily focus on the support of the DPG Automation Systems as it pertains to software updates and issues.
Assisting with software to existing systems and developing programs for new systems.
The Automation/ Application Programmer will become proficient in programming logic controllers (PLC's), configuring HMI's, and create programs to interface PLC's with centralized databases, will design software for use by all departments, and develop programs to optimize company workflow.
Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition and Allen Bradley technologies, such as the use of Connected Components Workbench, preferred.
Experience- 2 or more years Python programming preferred.
These systems use various component parts that are directly related to our patented equipment and delivery systems.
Relocation assistance not available for this position.
Essential Duties:
Develops an understanding and displays proficiencies with all parts and components, including hardware and software and its ultimate use (As it pertains to Automation).
Effectively troubleshoots issues of software of all systems, panels, etc.
(As it pertains to Automation).
Effectively measures and tests functionality of equipment/programs to meet DPG quality and control standards.
Effectively maintains Scada Data base, to ensure proper reporting conditions and summaries Effectively navigates, operates and configures in Windows Server 2012 R2 Effectively communicates with Field operations to identify and solve Automation issues in the field.
Effectively communicates with Senior Assembly Tech and Assembly Manager to develop, build and test prototype systems/chemical programs.
Immediately communicates programming issues or concerns with your Manager and other senior management to ensure effective resolution.
Ensures each project is successfully commercialized by leading and participating in the roll-out of new products/software into the field.
Accurately programs and configures all components of the Automation System:
including Gateways, PLC, and HMI's.
Manages and maintains a clean and organized work environment to ensure cleanliness and professionalism both at the main office and at customer sites.
Maintains accurate activity and expense reports on a daily basis and submits weekly to the office for processing.
Provides management with receipts on all expenditures while on company business.
Effectively optimizes productivity, by prioritizing time and tasks, set forth by Manager, working independently, and together as needed.
Effectively performs special assignments and projects as requested by leadership.
Maintains company sensitive and trade secret information according to company policy.

Minimum Qualifications B.
S.
in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics or High School Diploma with significant experience in one of these fields and computer programming.
Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition and Allen Bradley technologies, such as the use of Connected Components Workbench, preferred 2 or more years programming in computer languages such as Python and C#.
1 or more years experience using SQL or other database.
Skills:
Excellent verbal communication skills; Programming skills to troubleshoot existing systems and build new systems; Proficiency in computer processing functions and other standard office equipment; ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks; Ability to read, comprehend reports and regulatory documents and explain clearly and concisely to others; Ability to calmly and professionally resolve issues with diplomacy and tact; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; Strong organizational skills Physical Requirements:
Visual acuity to read a computer screen and paper documents; close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus; hearing acuity to converse with staff and customers in person and by phone; ability to walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and lift and move 10 pounds on a regular basis, up to 25 pounds occasionally; ability to sit for hours at a time.
Working Conditions:
This position functions primarily indoors with occasional duties outdoors, with exposure to a variety of work environments; which include outside weather conditions and exposure to machinery and equipment with moving parts.
